Frequently Asked Questions
When is check in and check out?
In order to deliver an excellent experience for all our guests, we require guests to adhere to a strict 12:00pm check out time and 4:00pm check in time. This allows the teams preparing the property for our next guest to have enough time to clean and sanitize between stays.
What is the ‘Check Out Checklist’?
Our awesome cleaning team will arrive promptly after your 12:00pm check out time to do a cleaning prior to the arrival of our next guests. Prior to leaving, please have all dishes cleaned and put away. Please have the cottage in a similar condition as to when you arrived, with all interior and exterior furniture and decor returned to their original placement. A detailed checkout checklist will be sent to you with our welcome guide upon booking.
Can we drink the water?
Our water comes from a deeply drilled well. Water tests have shown the water to be clean and clear, but we cannot guarantee that this will not change at some point in the future. While most guests happily enjoy drinking the water with meals just as they do while brushing their teeth, some guests opt to bring their own bottled water for regular consumption. We also have water cooler dispenser in the kitchen that fits 18L.
Are you on a septic system?
Yes, we are on a septic system which means nothing other than toilet paper can be flushed. Please do not flush baby wipes, tissues, paper towels, or feminine products. If it is found that a clog in the septic system occurs due to improper usage, you could be held responsible for damages.
Can we smoke on your property?
Our cottage is a non-smoking environment. If you need to smoke, please do so outside and dispose of your cigarettes afterwards in a way that allows it to be taken home with you. Throwing cigarettes into the lake or on our property is NOT permitted & you will be charged for the cleanup.
Can we play music outside/use fireworks?
The Vista Lakehouse is located on a very quiet road, so you can look forward to a peaceful and quiet environment. This property is a place to create fun and lasting memories with family and friends but by no means is it a party spot, a spot for playing loud music, or a place to be outside loudly at night. The use of fireworks is not permitted. All guests are to be respectful of our neighbours who have the right to the peaceful enjoyment of their homes. Armour Township Noise By-Law prohibits excess noise from 11:00pm until 10:00am the next morning. If a noise complaint is received and a fine is issued, you will be responsible for the cost.
